Save the date for Savor Cannon Beach: March 8-11, 2018.

The Savor Cannon Beach Wine & Culinary Festival offers a series of unique wine tasting experiences over four days including the opportunity to taste some of the top award-winning wines from recent wine competitions paired with chef-designed appetizers. Our Wine Walk on Saturday features over 40 Northwest wineries pouring tastings at Cannon Beach art galleries, restaurants and retail shops, all within easy walking distance in this compact beach community. With the $40 event ticket purchase, participants receive a souvenir Savor Cannon Beach wine glass and tastes at all locations are free. In addition to ticketed festival events, the town's restaurants, galleries and shops feature a weekend full of tastings, special dinners and other events.

THURSDAY, MARCH 9 (5-7pm)

BEST OF THE NORTHWEST THROWDOWN


Our opening night event is an evening of award-winning Northwest wines and chef-designed light bites to pair with them. You'll taste 12 award-winning wines including recent Gold Medal winners from the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, the SavorNW Wine Awards and the Cascadia Wine Competition along with one wine named among the Top 100 Wines of 2016 by Wine Spectator Magazine. Your vote will determine the best wines of the evening from these superb selections. Three-time Iron Chef Goes Coastal winner Jonathan Hoffman will prepare light bites designed to pair with the wines. Our Thursday Night Throwdown is an evening of delicious fun and is a great way to discover new wines and varietals while you increase your awareness of Northwest wine regions. Some of the wineries represented include Lemelson Vineyards, Zerba Cellars, Alexandria Nicole Cellars, Abacela, Reustle Prayer Rock Vineyards and Walla Walla Vintners. FRIDAY, MARCH 10 (1-4PM)

WINEMAKER'S PREMIUM POURS


Six Northwest wineries have agreed to open up their cellars and share three special wines. In all, you'll have the opportunity to taste 18 special wines including library wines, verticals, horizontals or reserve wines. You'll be treated to a lesson on the ageability of Pinot Noir as you taste three library wines from Willamette Valley's winemaking pioneer, Sokol Blosser Winery. Wines will include a 15-year old Dundee Hills Pinot, their acclaimed 2007 Dundee Hills Pinot and 2008 Goosepen Block vintages. Angel Vine will pour a three-year vertical of their award winning The Hellion red blend and Walla Walla's Tero Estates will pour a three-year vertical of their Windrow Vineyards Field Blend (2009, 2010 and 2011). Anne Amie Vineyards will offer a library horizontal of their wines from the 2008 vintage, a year that offered a short growing season in the Willamette Valley and a dry September and October that produced wines of exceptional structure and ageability potential. The wines will include their Estate Riesling, Prisme Reserve Pinot Blanc and L'iris Reserve Pinot Noir. Kramer Vineyards will present their "Game of Clones," pouring three different Pinot Noirs grown from different clones originating from Burgundy France. Lujon Wine Cellars will pour a vertical of Cabernet Sauvignon including their 2012, 2013 and 2014 vintages. This is a drop-in wine tasting event where you can taste some special wines. Palate cleansers are provided, but food is not served at this wine tasting event (some food will be available for purchase).

FRIDAY, MARCH 10 (6-8pm)

WINE & GALLERY WALK


You'll enjoy an evening strolling downtown Cannon Beach visiting art galleries, each hosting a Northwest winery and serving light appetizers. It's a fun evening of art, wine and food. You'll taste wines from popular Willamette Valley wineries including Sokol Blossor Winery, Anne Amie Vineyards, Willamette Valley Vineyards, Kramer Vineyards and Patton Valley Vineyards. Participating Walla Walla wineries include Locati Cellars, Amavi Cellars and Pepper Bridge Winery. Your ticket purchase includes a souvenir Savor Cannon Beach glass.

SATURDAY, MARCH 11 (11am-12:30pm)

WINE TASTING BASICS & BEYOND


In this program designed to help you taste wine like an expert, you'll sample four award-winning Northwest wines that demonstrate different wine characteristics in style, body, acidity and barrel influence. You'll explore wine terminology, from tannins to terroir; learn about AVAs and wine tasting do's and don'ts that will have you tasting and discussing wines like a pro. This program is designed for intermediate or beginning wine appreciators and is conducted by professional wine competition facilitators Hank and Nancy Sauer. Wines include two Best of Class red wine winners at the 2017 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, the Best of Show white wine from the 2016 Cascadia Wine Competition and the Best of Class white wine blend from the 2016 SavorNW Wine Awards. Participants with Wine Walk tickets can check-in and pick up their glass at this event avoiding the line at the downtown Wine Walk check-in. This is a sit down program, so you'll want to arrive on time and we kindly request no fragrances be worn.

SAVOR CANNON BEACH WINE WALK


Taste wines from approximately 40 Northwest wineries pouring tastings as you make the rounds of Cannon Beach art galleries, shops, restaurants and hotels. Participating wineries represent the major wine growing regions in Oregon and Washington. A few of the participating Oregon wineries include Sokol Blosser, Willamette Valley Vineyards, Anne Amie Vineyards, Owen Roe, Angel Vine, J. Scott Cellars and A to Z Wineworks. Washington and Walla Walla Valley wineries include Amavi Cellars, Pepper Bridge Winery, Skylite Cellars, Locati Cellars, Northwest Cellars and Tero Estates. SUNDAY, MARCH 12 (11:30am-1:30pm)

GOLD MEDAL WINES & BATTLE OF THE BITES


This great event will tempt you to stay an extra day with its combination of great wine and exciting chef-made creations! You'll taste 12 current vintage Gold Medal winning wines from the SavorNW Wine Awards selected the previous week by some of the top wine judges in the Northwest. This event will also feature the Battle of the Bites with "bites" prepared by area chefs and restaurants; and your vote will determine the winner. This event is a great way to discover some of the best wines available in 2017 to add to your shopping list or cellar.

FESTIVAL PASSES: A Festival Pass including admission to all of these events is $195 (a limited number of Festival Passes are offered by advance purchase only).

PURCHASING TICKETS: All Savor Cannon Beach events are limited in size and we recommend advance purchase. Any remaining tickets will be available at the door to each event.

EVENT CHECK-IN INFORMATION: All Savor Cannon Beach events are considered 'will-call.' Please plan to check in to each event using your printed ticket confirmation and ID.

LOCATIONS: Please note that events are in a variety of locations. Make note of the check-in location for each ticket purchased.

AGE RESTRICTION: All participants must be 21 and older; IDs will be requested at check in to each event.
